Ashim Shakya, the man who brought “Gauley” before GTA VI

Meeting Nepal’s most popular Indie game developer, Mr. Ashim Shakya. His latest game “Gauley” is a masterpiece proudly “Made in Nepal” and a milestone for Nepali gaming industry. The solo artist/game developer Ashim has been diligently working on this video game title for past few years and the game has been well received for it’s GTA theme set in Nepal as well as neo-artistic look with traditional/cultural vibe. It was a pleasure meeting up with him. We wish him the greatest success!

Nani & Babu meets Mr. Dinesh DC (Chairperson of FDB, Nepal)

Today we had a meetup with Mr. Dinesh DC chairperson (president) of Film Development Board, Nepal. He is so happy and shared insights, willingness to support Nani and Babu for promoting Nepali language, culture to not just Nepalese audience but globally as being truly Made in Nepal cartoon animation! It is our greatest honor to meet him and be recognized for our work! He also mentioned how his grand daughter is a big fan of Nani & Babu and learnt to sing Nepali song with “Lali Hamri Gai” being her first and most favorite song. Much love!!!

Pixar to Pixels: Evening with Jeremy Vickery — A Milestone Event for Nepal’s Animation Industry

The Animation and VFX Artists Association of Nepal (AVAAN) hosted a landmark event titled “Pixar to Pixels: Evening with Jeremy Vickery” on Monday, April 21, 2025 (08th Baisakh 2082) at the Film Development Board (FDB) Hall, Chabahil. The event was graced by over 200 professionals, students, and enthusiasts from the creative arts community.

The session featured Mr. Jeremy Vickery, renowned former Lighting Director at PIXAR, whose credits include blockbuster films such as Cars, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Inside Out, WALL-E, Brave, and more. Hosted by Aneel Neupane, the meet-and-greet offered attendees a rare opportunity to gain industry insights directly from one of the minds behind Pixar’s visual storytelling legacy.

Mr. Dinesh D.C., Executive Chairperson of the Film Development Board Nepal, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring address. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of supporting Nepal’s creative youth and building a strong foundation for international collaboration in animation and VFX. “Nepali talent is brimming with potential, and with the right support and global exposure, they can truly shine on the world stage,” he said.

A key highlight of the event was the official inauguration of the Animation & VFX Artists Association of Nepal (AVAAN). The formation of AVAAN marks a crucial step toward uniting Nepali artists, fostering growth, and amplifying Nepal’s presence in the international animation arena.

A special appreciation goes out to the founding members who made this event possible through their dedication and vision:
